402. Wet/Dry Routine

In the military, there’s a brutal ritual known as “wet and dry”—where soldiers, in pitch-black darkness, change out of soaked uniforms into dry clothes before sleep, only to change back into their freezing, wet gear at 5 a.m. It’s miserable. But it’s also mission-critical.

Why? Because comfort is not the goal—readiness is.

This episode is about that exact moment: when the voice inside says, “Stay warm, stay safe,” but discipline says, “Get up, get cold, and do it anyway.” Because the mission requires it.

Whether you’re an athlete, a coach, a parent, or a business owner, there are “wet and dry” moments in your life—daily choices to endure temporary suffering for long-term capability.

And the ones who succeed? They don’t ask how to make it easier. They train themselves to do it anyway.
