566. Mental Game 101
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In today's episode of the Daily Drive, we explore Occam’s Razor in the Arena: how the simplest mental model survives under pressure.
Athletes often drown in a cluttered multi-step execution loop—checking feet, defenders, coach cues, past mistakes—until overthinking creates the yips. Occam’s Razor cuts it all down to one focused step: Target.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 2021 Finals free-throw transformation proves it. After a routine bloated with mechanics and crowd noise left him struggling, he simplified to breathing and the rim. In Game 6, he went 17-of-19, turning a weakness into a weapon by staying in the moment.
Fewer steps. Sharper performance.
